The Cranfield MSc in Investment Management is distinctive in covering the principles, tools and techniques of both investment and management, as well as how to apply them in real work situations. Throughout the course you will have access to Bloomberg live financial news and data and use real-world, international case studies to support your learning.

Aims

This course is designed for recent graduates with a desire to develop their knowledge and skills in investment management before seeking their first professional role; and professionals who already have work experience in the investment industry and are looking to take their career to the next level. The course will prepare you for roles in the investment industry such as portfolio manager, hedge-fund specialist, investment specialist, trader, fund manager, risk manager, security analyst, broker or corporate treasurer.

This course is taught by faculty experts who have extensive industry experience and who regularly work with major global financial services organisations, multinationals and government agencies around the world. You will be taught a range of innovative modules and will learn through case studies, participative exercises, interactive lectures, group projects and sessions hosted by industry speakers.

Once your online application has been submitted, it will be processed by our admissions team within four to six weeks and if successful, we will invite you for interview.

We encourage you to come to Cranfield for your interview but appreciate that this is not always possible. If you are based outside Europe and are unable to travel to the UK, we will arrange a telephone of Skype interview.

If, following your interview, you are successful, an offer letter will be emailed to you within two weeks. You will then have a further four weeks to confirm your place and pay your deposit of £1,000. 

Criteria for assessing applications:

  • Language test and/or interview
  • GMAT
  • Assessment interview
  • Bachelors Degree or a professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA) and have 5 years' relevant work experience 
  • We may also require you to take GMAT (minimum score 600)
  • If English is not your first language, you must take one of the following:

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – a minimum score of 92 is required (Important: this test is not currently accepted by the UK Home Office for Tier 4 (General) visa applications). The ETS DI Code for TOEFL is 0822.
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – band 6.5 is required, with writing of 6.5.
