Aims

This programme will:

  • Provide you with the chance to take challenging courses in aspects of film history and theory.
  • Give you the opportunity to learn practical production skills, and to put these skills into practice making documentary production.
  • Allow you to access specialist film production equipment and experienced practitioner staff, who are able to advise and support you.
  • Enable you to produce a portfolio of films.

You will take the two core modules, Documentary Theory and Practice and Documentary Production Project. You will be strongly encouraged to audit lectures on the MA Film Studies core module, which engages with the intellectual study of film (both documentary and fiction) and will provide your with more specialist understanding in theory that will underpin your academic study in areas that you may wish to develop.
