Our modal student will go on to (or return to) a professional legal career in a UK or overseas law firm, quite often in a Civil Law jurisdiction, interacting with the English Common Law in such areas as shipping or sales disputes. Other students go on to study to become a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK or abroad.The International Commercial Law LLM at University of Westminster qualification also equips graduates to work in a legal liaison role within small to medium enterprises, especially those involved in the transnational provision of goods and services. In a liaison role the graduate employee is able to informally assess legal risk, and to advise and take legal advice from specialist lawyers, on behalf of their company.

International Commercial Law students may also take one free choice LLM module per semester of full time study (or two total for Part Time) from any other course, in areas such as Dispute Resolution, Corporate Finance, International Law and Entertainment Law.

Please note that option modules are subject to student demand and staffing availability, therefore not all modules may be offered in any one academic year.

  • Applicants with a Laurea Specialista, Diploma di Laurea, Corso di Laurea (prior to 1999), Licenza di Accademia di Belle Arti, Bachelors, Diploma Universitario with a minimum overall degree score of 90 can be considered for a relevant Masters programme.  
  • Exceptionally, consideration will be given to mature applicants who lack standard qualifications but have significant professional or managerial experience in a programme-related post.
