The MSc Aquatic Ecology by Research offers students a comprehensive practical training with a good proportion of time spent in the laboratory and field. There are three taught modules essential to bring you up to speed with the latest theories, analytical tools and statistical approaches to address current issues in the field. However, this programme places more of an emphasis on practical work, rather than formal tuition such as lectures.
You will develop all the skills necessary to undertake further academic or applied research through completion of an extended project. This will be aligned to cutting edge research taking place in the Centre for the Aquatic and Terrestrial Environment in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences. Students will be encouraged to share their work through publication in relevant journals.
