This pathway focuses on developing an understanding of the main psychotherapeutic approaches available, and the contemporary issues and debates in the psychotherapies field. You will be introduced it the major psychological therapies. Consideration will also be given to the ethical issues and the methodological difficulties associated with carrying out research in this area.
The MSc programme consists of three 12-week modules. Completion of the first module is accredited for exit with a PGCert in mental health assessment. Completion of the first two modules permits exit with a PGDip in either Psychological Therapies or Transcultural Mental Healthcare. Completion of all three modules, leads to the MSc award.
