Master of Music or MMus are awarded by universities and music conservatories and are the first graduate degree in Music. MMus combines high level academic subjects such as music history, music theory, or music pedagogy with advanced studies in an applied area of specialization: music performance, composition or conducting. This degree requires to graduates from one up to two years of full-time study to become men and women with a career as professional performers, conductors, and composers. Master of Music or MMus is also a gateway to teaching positions in universities, colleges and conservatories as instrumental or vocal teachers. Boys and girls, interested in attending these pathways, are required great commitment in terms of both theoretical study of practical exercises. MMus programs are able to specialize students in the music of their most interest and allow them to turn their passion into a job.
