MLitt or Master of Letters is a master's degree but it is not offered in all institutions, nor in all disciplines. It is usually awarded in Arts, Divinity, Fine Art, Humanities or Social Sciences. Graduates are required to have a bachelor's degree to be admitted to MLitt. This course of study is usually a specialized course "taught" that includes lectures, exams and a dissertation based on independent research and lasts from one up to two years full-time. The diploma may be awarded by boys and girls after passing an examination. Women and men can decide to attend one of these master's degrees in order to acquire general knowledge in disciplines related to art, humanities or social science and start a successful career as teacher or expert and consultant in literature, history, philosophy.
