The Master`s Programm Culture, Arts & Media does research on cultural artifacts, practices, institutions and media as well as on fields of cultural production. It addresses both high culture and everyday popular culture. Cultural sciences theories
and methods focus on social and cultural configurations, processes of cultural change, the social dimensions of cultural
phenomena as well as concrete forms of contemporary culture.

Aims

The Master’s Program Culture, Arts and Media is aimed to students who pursue academic careers, as well as for those who want to take on high-level positions in the cultural and creativity economy, in the arts, in the media, in the public cultural sector, or in private foundation work.

By introducing new focus areas, interdisciplinary options for electives, and a variety of different minors, the program strengthen individualized disciplinary orientation and specialization. Students chose their own focus area as well as their minor. The possibilities for combining courses and choosing electives will expand students’ understanding and stimulate innovative transdisciplinary approaches to socially relevant fields of study.
